The Erasmus Uganda Charitable Trust’s purpose is to ensure the children of the Wakiso district in Kampala, Uganda get the primary education and skills that are vital to their future. In the future we aim to provide the wider community with healthcare and sustainable technology to meet their needs now and in the future.
Many children we work with are orphans from families of those affected by HIV/AIDS. Other children at the school are often from homes where their guardians are ill, poor, elderly and are also in need of support.
We know how a good education can transform a young person’s life, by providing the children of Wakiso district a safe environment to learn, we hope to make a difference to this vibrant community.
Education

We provide the funds to build the facilities to deliver quality education and promote lifelong learning to the children of Wakiso at The Good Samaritan Primary School. We support school fees, provide uniforms, shoes, textbooks, pens and a safe home for orphaned children. The facilities which we support provide every member of the community access to an education that will increase their skills and life chances.
Skills, Training & Enterprise

We support young people to develop their skills to develop their earning potential. We encourage former pupils of The Good Samaritan Primary School to discover their talents and give them a helping hand to start their own businesses. Many of the Good Samaritan’s former pupils have successful businesses and some have continued to support the community by helping build facilities.
Health & Wellbeing

We aim to develop a health centre based at The Good Samaritan Primary School to help the Wakiso community. By providing a home to orphaned or impoverished children, TEUCT helps to ensure all children have a safe home with access to clean water, food, sanitation facilities and education. The pupils and staff at The Good Samaritan Primary School have access to clean fresh water and sanitation facilities on site.
Sustainable Futures

We aim to develop kitchen gardens to help create food security by promoting sustainable agriculture practices. This will not only help those at The Good Samaritan Primary School but also the wider community. We also hope to ensure access to affordable, reliable sustainable energy for The Good Samaritan Primary School as we upgrade facilities at the school.
Empowering Woman

At TEUCT we know that girls and women are at the heart of development and 32.3 million girls across the world of primary school age are out of education. By continuing to support the women who teach at The Good Samaritan Primary school and the girls who learn there, education inequalities are reduced and a more resilient community develops where all individuals, including boys and men have the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
